Playa del Ingles is the downtown part of Maspalomas.
When you drive from the north of the Island or from the Airport and drive towards the south you start to decend into a large valley that signifies the end of the mountain range.
That vally is maspalomas and sweeps down to the famous sand dunes and the sea.
Some background facts, there are around 100,000 apartment beds and 40,000 hotel beds in Gran Canaria.
Playa del Ingles alone accounts for half the hotel beds on the Island, 20,000 and nearly 10,000 apartment beds.
