The GLAY awards for 2011 were held in the Official Tourist center next to the Yumbo Center.
The cermony was lead by Paul Barns, the now former President of GLAY, the official LGBT organisation that represents the majority of GAY owned and run businesses in and around the Yumbo Centrum
In attendance were most of the business managers who run operate and own the majority of the British, Dutch and German businesses that belong to the GLAY organisation, a voluntary group who organise the annual
GAY PRIDE MASPALOMAS celebrations which have attracted an estimated 725,000 visitors to Gran Canaria over the last 10 years.
Unofficial estimates say that the Gay Pride annual events alone have been responsible for contributing around
450,000,000 euros (over 300 million pounds) to the local economy since 2001 for these one week(+) events alone!.
