Spanish nurses are trained to the same high standads as e.g. Irish or Brisitsh nurses however their range of duties in hospitals appears to be smaller than those associated with Ireland or England.
Only in the last 6-18 months has Spain started to see the benefits of the 2007 program set in place to address the official education prograqm for nurses.
Whilst part of the university system for over 30 years only since 2010 have there been newly trained qualified nurses who have been throught the new system of objectives aimed at formalising the natiojnal course requirements for nursing in main specialst areas such as community health, midwifery, mental health nursing, geriatrics and pediatrics.
Nursing assistants perform the roles of feeding and personal care and hygine normally associated with nursing in the U.K. and Ireland.
