The Hard Rock Cafes Closes as its giant guitar icon was removed today a small team as bewildered tourists looked on.
Our sources tell us that the "Hard Rock Cafe" Playa del Ingles has been illegally operating as a Hard Rock Cafe for over a year and a recent court decision has ordered the removal of the Symbolic 8 meter high guitar that stood outside the former premises.
In an operation lasting 20 minutes the Guitar was gone! Electric saws cut the column supporting the guitar as it was hoisted by a winch into the back of a small pickup truck today at 1.30pm December 16th 2010.
Locals watched in silence as stunned tourists took photographs.

Hard Rock Cafe Gran Canaria
Opened 2 Dec 2005
Closed 15 Dec 2010
Personal recommendation, 25 meters down the hill is Cafe Florin, and internet Cafe Bar that serves much better Coffee for half the price; the alternative to the hard rock Cafe Gran Canaria"
