Here in Gran Canaria the long established Wind Turbines are modest compaired to the Irish Greenwire Project which was offcially given the go ahead last week.
With over 700 giant turbines planed for central county regions the reactions fall into two camps, one being the economic benefits the other the damage to the quality of life this "green" project will cause to the Irsh countryside.
With each tower reaching 180 meters into the air around 42 different projects will spread the turbins over 5 counties.
With governments already signed up to the deals one has to wonder a little at the reaction in Mullingar where several land owners have reportedly signed up to the deal.
Shock and awe!
The proposed changes are profound for the Irish countryside.
The difference will be significant, PDI.biz will run with this storey and reflect and report on the progress, one thing is for sure that the current rubins located in Vecindario for example could never be easily replaced with such giants however anything is possible so we cannot rule out the some of the next generation of Wind farms may well be onthere way to these Islands within the next decade
The new wind turbines will be over 5 times higher than those in Gran Canaria and amoungst the tallest in the world!.
We have been unable to find any pictures leading to the conclusion that they are so new that none have been built and deployed into production in other parts of the world so far, however this is a question of research, for now here's a list of the the tallest we can find, the hightest being 200m.
