Make sure you apply for your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC card) at least two weeks before you are due to leave,
The U.K. NHS system works well when it comes to applying and waitng for the card to arrive, it is pretty quick, usually no more than one working week if you apply at the post office.
You can apply for you EHIC online by clicking

At the time of writng this the number of suspected cases in the U.K. seems to have jumped from 55.000 to nearly 100,000 in just a matter of 4 or 5 days.
These numbers are growing extraordinarily fast and the front line NHS systems simply can not cope with rate of growth so if confirmed these numbers will be reflected in a percentage of those departing for holiday to Spain.
Basically you are probably more likely to contract the flu virus in the U.K.. or from other Brits travelling with you than you are from the Spanish.
Quick facts;
Confirmed case thoughout Europe are 19,125, with 1,516 cases in Spain and 11,273 in Britain, 669 in France and 2,465 in Germany
